Researchers have found that you best remember the first thing you read and the last thing you read when studying. So, when studying for a test, take frequent breaks or study over several days in short bursts so you maximize your number of first and last things you've read.

It is not uncommon that your computer freezes suddenly and then you have no choice but to "reboot to restore". However sometimes you can avoid the reboot. If the NumLock key is still working on a frozen computer, then your PC is most likely to recover. This is beacuse NumLock sends an interrupt to the CPU every time your press it. And CPU responding to the NumLock (by toggling the NumLock LED) is a good indication if CPU is still alive and can recover from the frozen screen state.

Meditation isn't just for Hippies and Monks. Clear your mind, take a seat, sit up straight, close your eyes, concentrate on nothing but a single goal at a time, and allow all other thoughts to float away. Lose yourself in the enthusiasm of the thought of you completing these goals. By meditating and centering on your goals, you'll feel more motivated to work toward these goals and be quicker to achieve them.

The easiest way to teach elementary-aged children financial basics is to give them 3 envelopes. Label as: SHARE, SAVE, SPEND. When you child gets money (gifts, allowance, etc) have them divide the money into the 3 envelopes (ie., 10% in SHARE, 20% in SAVE, and 70% in SPEND). The money in the SHARE envelope goes to his/her favorite charity (with parental permission). The SAVE money can go to the bank or investment accounts. Of course the SPEND money for his/her next shopping spree.

Aim to pick up one piece of litter each day whether it is on your path to work, home, the store or not on your route at all. People seeing you do so will make them question their environmental servitude and are more likely to chip in.
